Queensland Chief Steward Appointed - Mr.Ian Hayes has been appointed as the Chief
Steward for Arabian and Sprint Racing in Queensland. Those who have raced in New South Wales will remember Ian as the Steward at the Goulburn Race meetings. |

Gatton Race Meeting - Alternate Racing Queensland (ARQ) will conduct racing at a stand alone
race meeting at the Gatton race track on 25th June 2006. The meeting will include a 1200m and a 1600m race for Arabian Horses and a maiden Race, 2yo, 3yo and open sprint for Sprint Horses. The Arabian races will be conducted under the NARA Australian Arabian Rules of Racing. All racing will have sponsored prize money. Nomination Fees will be $35 per race which will include insurance payments. The program will also include the "Gatton Express" a 200 meter timed sprint which will be open to all comers, with the exception of racehorses - entry fee for the Gatton Express is $50 of which $40 will jackpot as prizemoney. More information will be provided over the next few days. This race meeting should be the first of a continuous program of racing in QLD. |

Training on Thoroughbred Racetracks - Racing Victorian Ltd. and Queensland Racing have
given permission for Alternate Breed Racehorses (Arabian & Sprint horses), to train on country Thoroughbred racetracks. Use of the training tracks will not be permitted on Thoroughbred race days. Trainers must be licenced by NARA or another racing authority recognised by the NARA board and have adequate WorkCover and insurance policy coverage.

Thoroughbred Licenced Personnel permitted to participate in Arabian Racing - As from July
1st, 2005 rule AR6 of the Australian Rules of Racing were amended to allow trainers, jockeys and stable hands to participate in Alternate Breed racing without jeopardizing their licence. Please refer to the Australian Rules of Racing for full details of the rule change. |

BARRIER TRIALS - Will be conducted at Gatton Thoroughbred race track on Saturday 17
June 2006 under the supervision of the NARA & NSRA (National Sprint Racing Assoc.) National Chief Steward Ian Hays. No horses will be accepted to race at the Gatton 25 June race meeting without barrier certification or acceptable evidence of prior racing history. Trials will commence at 1pm. |
